"Hank Aaron is synonymous with home runs, but there was much more to Hammerin' Hank than his 755 roundtrippers. He at one time held all-time marks for most games and at-bats, is still the lifetime leader in total bases and RBI, and his batting average over 23 seasons was .305—indications of the all-around ability of this quiet man from Mobile. The National League MVP in 1957, he appeared in a record 24 All-Star contests with the Braves (Milwaukee and Atlanta) and Brewers. This great 16x20 photogrpah of Hank's historic 3,000th Hit is hand signed by Hank in blue. A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included. " |

"This autographed commemorative photo taken of Cal Ripken Jr.'s 3000th hit is signed in Blue Sharpie under the 3000th hit logo. Ripken is one of only seven players in history to reach the 400 home runs and 3,000 hit plateaus, joining Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Eddie Murray, Stan Musial, Dave Winfield & Carl Yastrzemski. Cal is best known as baseball's all-time ""Iron Man"", and on September 5 & 6 of 1995, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards against the California Angels, Ripken tied and broke Lou Gehrig's consecutive games played record of 2,130. He retired having played in 3001 games (8th all-time), 3,184 hits (13th all-time), 431 career homers (30th all-time) and held or shared 11 Major League or American League fielding records. Ripken will be eligible for induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY in 2007. "Wade Boggs proved he was one of baseball's most consistent hitters. Boggs posted seven consecutive 200-plus hit seasons from 1983 through 1989. In 14 of his 15 Major League seasons, he hit over .300 and captured the A.L. Batting Champion crown six times. Boggs didn't want to become known as a one-dimensional offensive player, so he took it upon himself to improve his defensive skills. His extra work paid off when he earned 11 consecutive All-Star Game starts, setting a record for American League third basemen (1986-1996). He also led A.L. third basemen in fielding percentage in 1993 (.970) and in 1995 (.981). Although his fielding was superb, Boggs will always be remembered for his hitting. Wade Boggs connected on his 3,000 hit with a home run against Cleveland on August 7, 1999. His only World Championship was with the Yankees in 1996. Wade Boggs hand signed this 16x20 photograph of his long desired 3,000th career hit in 1999. A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included. " |
