The microcontroller automatically shuts off the line-card power on excessive rise in temperature. It also controls a Status LED on the front panel. |

The 2-Port Monitoring Line Card from Myricom® features two 10Base-T Ethernet ports for interfacing with Myrinet-2000 Switches. This hot-swappable line card incorporates a Power-PC microcontroller with RAM and flash memory which communicates via individual serial links with small microcontrollers on port line cards, on a fan-monitoring board, and on the monitoring line card itself. The small microcontroller functions include self-test, board identification, voltage and temperature monitoring, and status information reported, on demand, through the serial link to the main microcontroller.
