The AMIQ from Avocent® provides the primary interface between an attached device (KVM switch or PS/2, SUN or USB server) and the AMX system. It provides all Keep Alive, keyboard emulation, DDC (Digital Data Channel) and AMX support in a server-powered convenient cable format. This eliminates the need for extra rack space, power outlets or additional cables. For ease of installation, each AMIQ has a factory-assigned unique number that identifies the attached server within the system. The connection between the AMX system and the AMIQ is via industry standard UTP cabling. |

The AMX5130 User Station from Avocent® connects the user to the AMX switching system. The AMX user stations simplify access by increasing user control and delivering optimal real-time video to the user's desk. The station connects to the user's multi-platform KVM peripherals (PS/2, USB or Sun) and sends the KVM signals over a UTP cable to an Avocent AMX matrix switch. The UTP connectivity and analog switching technology provide multi-user access and control to any server in the KVM matrix system. This device enables the user to switch speakers and microphone and provides for serial switching up to 38.4Kbps. It automatically compensates for varying cable types and lengths and for signal losses each time a switch is made to a server. It supports AMIQ modules with two UTP connections. In addition, the AMX5130 works with the OSCAR® GUI that uses multi-lingual, intuitive menus for click and connect system configuration and server selection. |
